Who to contact
This notice explains the personal information collected through Matthew Brownell’s Stress Solutions website, matthewbrownell.co.uk, and its enquiry and appointment links. For privacy questions or a request about your information, contact Matthew Brownell at matthewbrownell@me.com or call 0161 839 5335. Information you provide
Enquiries may include your name, email address, phone number and message. The clinic enquiry form also asks for age group, gender, symptoms, previous treatment, availability and pain level. These answers can reveal sensitive health information. Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry. Do not send identity documents, payment-card details or extensive medical records through an ordinary website message. You can telephone the clinic to discuss how to provide sensitive information.
Appointment booking can collect your contact details, selected service, appointment time and information you enter into the booking form. If you choose newsletter signup, the form collects your email address. Website services may also receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and requested pages when delivering the site, embedded content or forms.
Why information is used
Information is used to respond to enquiries, arrange and administer requested appointments, communicate about those arrangements, process payment records and operate and protect the website. Ordinary appointment administration is necessary to take steps you request before a contract or to provide the booked service. Responding to general enquiries and maintaining website security serve the clinic’s legitimate interests. Applicable accounting and other legal obligations may require records to be kept. Newsletter signup is optional; you can withdraw your subscription using the unsubscribe option or by contacting the clinic.
Health information has additional legal protections. This website notice does not establish permission for every use of a clinical record. Before providing detailed health records or agreeing to treatment, ask the clinic for the information relevant to your care, including the applicable basis for handling health information, who can access it and its retention arrangements. Agreeing to treatment and agreeing to marketing are separate matters.
Booking, payments and connected services
- The website runs on WordPress and uses website form services to receive enquiries.
- Appointment links and the embedded calendar use TidyCal. Review the information shown there before submitting a booking.
- Some payment links open PayPal. Payment details entered into PayPal are handled through that service. For an emergency appointment, pay £164.95 first, then message Matthew. Matthew will arrange the appointment time and clinic location directly with you within five to seven days; do not select a time in the calendar.
- Product purchase buttons lead to the separate Body Software Shopify shop. Orders and checkout information are governed by the shop’s privacy information and the payment services selected there.
- The Body Software app has its own account and privacy notice. A clinic booking or shop purchase does not itself create an app account.
- Embedded videos, reviews and other Google or YouTube features can communicate with their providers when loaded or used. Those providers may receive technical information and use cookies under their own privacy terms.
Website, communication, booking and payment providers receive information needed for the service being used. They may operate outside the UK; their privacy notices explain their locations and transfer arrangements. This page does not certify that a particular overseas transfer safeguard has been checked. Contact the clinic if you need details of the arrangements applying to your information.
Cookies and your choices
WordPress, booking calendars, videos and review services may use cookies or similar browser storage. Browser controls let you delete or block cookies, although some features may stop working. Opening an external service is subject to its own choices and privacy notice. This notice is not a cookie-consent control and does not prevent an embedded service from loading. If you prefer not to use an embedded booking form, contact the clinic by phone or email.
Keeping information
Retention decisions take account of the purpose of the record, whether an enquiry or appointment is still active, necessary follow-up, accounting obligations, complaints, insurance and any applicable professional or legal requirements. Clinical records and financial records may need different periods. No single deletion deadline for all clinic records is promised by this page. Contact the clinic to ask what period applies to your information or to request deletion; some records may need to be retained where there is a valid reason.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion or restriction, object to particular uses, or request a portable copy of information. Where a use relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Rights are subject to conditions and exceptions; the clinic may need to verify your identity before releasing records. Contact Matthew using the details above and describe your request without including unnecessary sensitive material.
If you are unhappy about how your information is handled, contact the clinic first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You do not have to contact the clinic before approaching the ICO.
Scope and updates
This notice covers the clinic website and the routes it provides to other services. It is separate from the RV Trainer app privacy policy and does not describe every aspect of clinical record keeping. The date above will be updated when this notice changes.
